Examples of delinquent behavior

Delinquency is defined as failing to follow the law, or an overdue debt. An example of a delinquency is stealing from a store. An example of a delinquency is not paying your credit card bill on time. Failure or neglect to do what duty or law requires.

Juvenile delinquency, also known as “juvenile offending”, is the act of participating in unlawful behavior as a minor or individual younger than the statutory age of majority. Juvenile crimes can range from status offenses (such as underage smoking/drinking), to property crimes and violent crimes.

Delinquent describes something or someone who fails to accomplish that which is required by law, duty, or contractual agreement, such as the failure to make a required payment or perform a particular action.
